Freight Forwarding Agent – Air Export

We are looking for an Air Export Freight Forwarding Agent for our BWS Hamburg Office located next to Hamburg International Airport.

The Job
In this job you will work with:

• Obtaining all the information necessary to plan the best route for the shipment(s): weight, dimensions, commodity, destination, invoices, and packing list
• Obtaining competitive rates online for better file profit
• Creating operational files in our Transport Management System and arrange the bookings
• Preparing the documentation to meet the airlines requirements
• Ensuring that all shipments are in compliance with local guidelines
• Arranging for pick-up and delivery
• Maintaining solid vendor relationships with airlines, truckers, etc.
• Arranging special services for time sensitive cargos
• Coordinating in advance with the warehouse
• Sending Pre-alerts to customers and agents
• Follow up on shipments until arrival at destination
• Accurate and timely billing to client
• Focusing on department goals and objectives
• Stepping in operationally to assist whenever necessary
• Offering cargo insurance

Your Background
You have min. 3 years’ experience with shipping globally. You have knowledge of the Air Export terminology. You are familiar with Air Export packaging and handling of dangerous goods.

Furthermore you:

• have experience with a Transport Management System
• have Hazmat training
• are able to maintain a high level of communication and transparency on customer activities.
• have the drive to achieve and go the extra mile when needed.
• are thriving with solving problems
• are keen to learn and develop new skills.

Optional you count on

• Customs experience with Dakosy to create Export Declarations
• Airfreight Checks (ZÜP) and trainings
