As our new Accountant you will become a part of our Finance department. You will work closely with colleagues across MCI within Finance and Controlling, as well as many other departments. As a part of the MCI Accounting and Reporting team you are based in our HQ in Tinglev. The team include a total of 5 supportive colleagues. We are looking for
We are seeking a qualified Accountant with a theoretical foundation and at least 3 years of practical experience. You should have a solid grasp of accounting principles, administrative routines, and financial systems. Experience with payroll accounting is an advantage. You should possess analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. Good communication and collaboration abilities are important, as is a commitment to quality work. Also, you should take ownership of your tasks. Our finance department is currently on a digitalization journey. Therefore, we are seeking a new colleague who has an interest in digitalization and would like to support our colleagues in the implementation process – we don’t expect you to have experiences beforehand. At Maersk Container Industry, we a are multi-cultural. Therefore, it is a plus if you feel comfortable to speak English – but we also consider fluency in “sønderjysk” an advantage 😉 You are free to submit your application in Danish or English. This position will be located in Tinglev in Denmark.

Key responsibilities
The set-up of tasks can be adjusted depending on your background and qualifications. Ideally, you will be working with the following areas after an introduction period:

• VAT reporting local and foreign: Reporting of VAT DK, gathering information to be send to external consultants regarding VAT in ZA and NZ, reporting of Intrastat.
• Validation and posting of salaries calculated by our HR depart-ment.
• Reconciliation of balances towards other Maersk entities.
• Reconciliations/statistics/reports: reconciliation of sale, vendor statements and other BS accounts.
