We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and global thinking person to manage teams responsible for executing our plant engineering activities. The team consists of engineers located in Sweden and Denmark. Pulp & Energy business line supplies complete pulp mills and process equipment for chemical and mechanical pulp production, as well as biomass- and waste-fueled power plants, boiler islands and related environmental systems. The business line’s customers are mainly pulp producers and power and heat producers. The most important geographical markets are Europe, South America and Asia.​

As a manager for one of our Plant Engineering departments you will lead and manage piping and layout resources overseeing the project execution and competence development. Since you are results driven, you will ensure a systematic and disciplined execution with regular follow-up and support aiming to secure that we have quality, timely and competitive outputs for sales, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, etc. Led by the Plant Engineering Global Head, and in close synchronization with our Engineering Excellence function, you will support the continuous development of our processes and ways to operate in piping & layout engineering in order to take us closer to our strategic goals.

You will be expected to be a strong team player having a forward looking and global perspective and you will naturally look to support the creation and implement a unified way to operate to drive results. You will be fully committed to nurturing a P&E team spirit and oversee that we develop competence and flexibility in our global resource pool.

In this role you will proactively drive continuous improvement within your team with a goal of providing a world class customer experience. Your organization will support sales to create winning plans which gives the project the solid foundation of success. This applies for single island projects as well as full mill wide offerings. With your good communication skills you are able to develop and maintain networks with our partner engineering companies.​

You will report to Senior Manager, Plant Engineering and will be part of the P&E Plant Engineering Management Team. You will work closely together with other managers within the same team and project execution functions as well as the TUs and BUs within P&E business line.​

Expectations​

You have a relevant B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering. You should have 10 years or more working experience from plant engineering and a proven track record of resource management/co-operation on a global scale.​

​

You have good interpersonal skills to build trust in your network, motivate people and manage different expectations. You have broad knowledge and experience of plant engineering practices and processes. You understand Valmet’s business models, organization and ways of working. You can effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. The position requires strong leadership skills, good problem-solving and decision-making skills. You are result oriented and you have a forward-looking mindset for creating a true global team.​

Excellent proficiency in English both verbal and written communication. Other languages are merited. You have willingness to travel even in short notice.
