Your new department
As our new PV Designer, you will be part of our EPC department which handles all the engineering activities within our Danish building program and plays an important role on the design for our international building programs. The PV Design team´s main responsibilities are to support the Project/Development department on the different project stages from Greenfield to Ready-to-Build, and later on EPC on the construction stage. We navigate between inhouse design, subcontractors’ design including multi-contracting approach where sub-contractor management is a big part of the daily routines. The team consist of 7 people.

Your new role:
As a PV Design Engineer of our EPC department, you will play a crucial role in the development and construction stages of photovoltaic (PV) projects. You will be part of a multidisciplinary and international team in charge of the overall project design of Utility-Scale Solar Farms worldwide.

Responsibilities:
As part of the PV Design team your primary focus will be on Civil Engineering Works, but you will be expected to learn and support on Electromechanical and Structural aspects. You will coordinate with other disciplines/teams like Electrical, Grid Integration, Technology Development (R+D), but especially with the Civil Engineering Team. Here are your key responsibilities:

  • Planning & Construction Layouts: Detailed layouts for Utility-Scale Solar Projects in coordination with PV Project Engineers.
  • Road Design and Infrastructure: Design internal road paths, turning radius, compound areas, and ancillary elements.Ensure road design aligns with project requirements and accommodates to them on complex topography, considering equipment installation needs, geology, specific traffic loads, vehicle types, use, etc.
  • Terrain Modeling and Earthworks: Create 3D terrain models to meet project PV mounting structures needs while optimizing construction resources by analyzing slopes and geology, flood mitigation measures like ditches, etc. It includes the Cut & Fills calculations in coordination with the Civil Engineering Team. Perform preliminary site assessments.
  • Constraint Validation: Collaborate with developers and the Project department to define constraints accurately.Validate and ensure adherence to project constraints.
  • Structural Adaptability: Analyze PV mounting structure adaptability to topography. Slope Analysis and Collision Analysis in accordance with specific structure limits and requirements..
  • Bill of Materials (BoM): Generate BoM during preliminary assessments and construction stages (Focus on Civil Works).
  • Technology Feasibility :Assess the feasibility of technology components (e.g., inverters, substructures).
  • Coordination and Documentation: Coordinate construction drawings with internal and external resources. Provide detailed electromechanical and civil specifications (e.g., inverter installation, structure installation, wiring management, roads).

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant positions.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D, for layouts and construction details.
  • Understanding of topographic surveys and DMT terrain models.
  • Understanding of soil related analysis is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with PV design software (e.g., PVcase) and GIS software (e.g., QGIS) is advantageous.
