In Food Systems Engineering and Supply, we engineer solutions for our customers based on Alfa Laval technology. You would be a valued member of the Quality Assurance team in Business Unit Food Systems. We support 8 sites globally with 460 colleagues.
About the job
Your job would be to plan, and to work hands on executing Quality Control (QC) inspections, both at our suppliers and workshops, reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, Business Unit Food Systems. Some of your key tasks include:
- Planning and coordination of QC activities on both mild steel and stainless-steel food grade equipment.
- Quality control inspections/assignments at our suppliers.
- Quality control inspections/assignments at our Workshops.
- Reporting non-conformities and root cause analysis activities in relevant systems.
- Work with Project Managers to enhance planning activities and reporting.
- Work with quality procedures and work instructions.
- Mentor Engineers in QC techniques.
- Review of supplier quality documentation.
Who are you?
Your QC skills are honed, you have the mechanical expertise it takes to recognize defects in work which does not meet Alfa Laval standards. You understand how Quality control adds true value to Alfa Laval’s customers and can support an organization on its journey to unparalleled quality standards and continuous improvement.
You are a team player, whilst at the same time, possessing the ability to work alone out in the organization. You are just as comfortable planning work, working with systems and interacting with your network/stakeholders as you are performing QC activities. You understand the importance of a solid digital environment, and that clear precise reporting on deviations and follow up on improvements is key to improving quality for our customers.
What can you do, and what have you done?
You have a solid background in welding/machining trades and have advanced to an engineering degree. You possess certificates required to work within QC (for example level 2 in NDT, VT & PT). Experience in working within a QC environment including inspection of skids/modules and pressure vessels would be a distinct advantage. You possess a good working knowledge of reporting and use of Office Pack. You enjoy travel and see it as a necessary part of your position.
Travel activity will involve a minimum of 50 days per year.
