The Job
The Crewing Manager will be part of the Marine HR Crewing team consisting of fourteen employees, and you will be reporting to the Head of Marine HR Operations. The right candidate will enjoy a role with the opportunity for vast cross functional involvement and get insight in the whole value chain of TORM.

The Crewing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day crewing operations of assigned vessels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a timely and cost-efficient crew change through close coordination of schedule with vessel for travel booking and send forward planning with reliever's name and status.
  • Execution of back-to-back planning for Master, Chief Engineer and checking of compliance on Officer’s Matrix requirements.
  • Managing seafarer’s career, performance, and development plan through appraisals.
  • Monitoring career progression through promotion pipeline in coordination with the Learning and Development team.
  • Identifying training needs and schedule through coordination with the Learning and Development team.
  • Communicating to assigned seafarers on their vessel assignments, terms of contract, salary scale and benefits.
  • The logistics of seafarers’ briefing/debriefing.
  • Ensuring proper and timely documentation of all lined-up seafarers through coordination with the assigned Crewing Assistant.
  • Updating of Crew Personnel System in relation to seafarer’s activity (planning, sign-on/sign-off, home) and approval of movements, reimbursements.
  • Monthly review of vessel crew costs and budget
  • Resolving seafarer’s disputes or concern through regular vessel calls or any other means of communication.
  • Monitoring handled seafarers under sick and injury status, health, and life insurance through coordination with our Insurance and Welfare department.
  • Coordination with other Marine HR teams globally to support and align fleetwide requirements.
  • Coordination with Tanker Operations and support projects related to Marine HR.
  • Conducting training for seafarers (e.g. induction, junior officer seminar, etc.) as per rotation with other Crewing Managers.
  • Supporting global projects when they arise.
  • Monthly participation in duty phone coverage rotation and meetings with vessels, Vessel Managers, etc.

The Profile
The ideal candidate should have the passion to lead and motivate the team to deliver operational excellence. You have at least two years of relevant work experience in the field of crewing operations. Relevant educational background in Maritime Studies is an advantage.

Furthermore, you are/have:

  • Experience in crew planning is a must and working in Crew Personnel System.
  • Solid knowledge of maritime policies, rules, and regulations both local and internationally (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, DMW).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and customer service orientation.
  • High attention to details and strong planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Willing to be assigned to the Cebu branch from time to time
