Senior Category Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll lead and co-shape our supply chain strategy within CAPEX and OPEX spend and see that strategy through to fruition. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining relations with both suppliers and internal stakeholders in the pursuit of building our organisation’s capabilities within larger categories in our Bioenergy business unit, incl. our Carbon Neutral Power Plants and ongoing Carbon Capture projects making sure to keep the availibity of our critical infrastructure assets high.

Welcome to Global Procurement
You’ll be part of Bio Procurement Category Management team where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for the category management of several categories across our procurement scope. You’ll help shape and lead our category management efforts in accordance with the overall strategy, backed by a large global organisation. You’ll be key in identifying and solving future supply chain risks in continuous cooperation with internal stakeholders and suppliers developing strong category strategies to the sourcing team and ensuring full procure-to-pay implementation of your strategy. You’ll play an important role in:

• developing viable strategies and conceptualising the way to source and contract
• screening, understanding, and developing a fit-for-purpose supply chain
• constantly staying on top of the market developments and supplier landscapes
• acting as liaison between procurement and business unit
• helping to build the procurement team as a strategic partner
• identifying new technologies and engaging with new potential suppliers.

To succeed in the role, you:

• have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, or similar, and have successfully created and executed procurement strategies in an EPCI/EPC context
• have relevant experience within a large, fixed asset/process industry, preferably specific market insights within power plants or heavy industry
• have a strong business orientation and experience with global supplier development and various contracting models
• have excellent negotiation and communication skills combined with a driven personality, enabling you to take the lead, but most importantly, to act as a team player which puts the collective success of the group first
• speak and write English fluently
• are innovative and can thrive with managing both the maintenance of less-critical scope while developing new strategies.
