Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Finance Team in Tokyo, Japan.

The Position

  • CIP has ambitious growth plans globally and in Asia Pacific region over the coming years. CIP expects to have EUR 100bn under management by 2030 making it one of the largest renewable infrastructure funds in the world.
  • CIP’s Flagship Fund has identified Japan as its main target market and are developing several potential offshore / onshore wind projects.
  • You will interface closely with CISC Global, CISC APAC counterparts and CIP Deal & Investment Management Teams to support the finance and accounting needs of portfolio of entities for the various renewable energy projects in Japan.
  • In your daily work, you will work closely with finance professionals and outsourced vendors within Japan to ensure compliance to reporting requirements and adherence to policies.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Project Controlling Support:
    • Project cost controlling, budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting
    • Establishment or maintenance of project WBS and rolling forecasts
    • Project timeline reporting in conjunction with PMO. Outlining impact of corresponding change in project timing and/or assumptions on budget and forecast
    • Contract management reviews and commitment tracking
    • Procurement activity reporting specifically focused on commitment and contingent liabilities (where applicable) reporting.
    • Vendor management and cash flow management
    • Performance monitoring reporting
    • Debt covenant compliance monitoring and reporting (for later-stage projects)
    • Support internal and external audits
  • Financial management of the project entities will consist of, but not limited to:
    • Manage reporting, controlling, and accounting (internal and external).
    • Manage external service providers carrying out finance, accounting and administration deliverables (incl. PTP, CTR, tax compliance, Company Secretary, and other finance workstreams)
    • Manage cash and treasury management (includes forecasting, active cashflow management.
  • Tax:
    • Managing the team to ensure tax compliance for Japan entities.
    • Working with Tax and Legal teams in DK on project structuring/ restructuring, and tax issues which may arise.
  • Compliance reporting:
    • Manage service providers to ensure compliance reporting such as tax and other statutory filings.
  • Other Ad-hoc projects as they come up.

The successful candidate

  • At least bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, business, or other relevant fields. CPA qualified preferred.
  • 6 – 8 years of experience in audit, project controlling, financial controlling, or consultancy in renewables, utilities, or infrastructure space.
  • Project related experience is a must.
  • Motivated by building best practices, solving complex issues, and growing the finance function.
  • High ability to prioritize assignments and manage short deadlines.
  • Team player with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and inputs and able communicate effectively with stakeholders.

*Please note that this is a fixed term contract and not a permemnant contract role.
