The position
As Senior Manager for Drug Substance Outsourcing for Product Supply Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (PS API), you will be responsible for the strategy as well as heading up the team focusing on outsourcing building blocks, Intermediates, starting Materials, Sidechains and API’s.

Some of your key focus include:

• Leading and motivating a team of currently 6 talented individuals, recognizing and developing their strengths
• Taking accountability for the performance and deliverables of the cluster, ensuring projects are completed within scope, time, quality, and budget
• Representing the cluster in various company governance fora, making decisions in line with your responsibilities
• Driving critical cross-functional projects and initiatives as well as optimizing processes
• Providing clear goals and purpose for the project team, ensuring effective use of time and resources

You will be working in a global organization; hence you should expect 10 to 20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area. You will be reporting directly to Uffe Holm, Vice President of Drug Substance Outsourcing.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you:

• Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or any other relevant field
• Possess a strong experience (+8 years) in procurement/strategic sourcing within the outsourcing space, focusing on drug substance or chemicals and/or biologics categories
• Exhibit leadership skills and ideally a previous experience in people management
• Are fluent in English, both written and spoken

It would be considered as a plus if you are already familiar with the pharmaceutical industry.

As a person, you have a strategic mindset and an ability to quickly understand different business models and industry dynamics. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into specific decisions and actions. You enjoy working in a multicultural and fast-paced environment and you bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humor to your work also when under pressure. Last but not least, you thrive in coaching and developing people.

About the department
You will be joining the Drug Substance Outsourcing department, which is part of Global Strategic Outsourcing & Devices function located in Bagsværd, Denmark. We have the global direct spend responsibility managing a network of outsourced partnerships for Product Supply. Our Drug Substance Outsourcing department is a dynamic and diverse team of Category Managers with different levels of experience, nationalities and backgrounds. The department has direct impact for Novo Nordisk ability to supply to patients.
