About the role
As the Startup Support Associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of a meaningful network of experts, startups, mentors, investors and corporates and learn first-hand what it takes to scout the next unicorn startup. You will become part of our extremely talented international team and work in close collaboration with the Startup Support Lead and the Content Coordinator. Learning key skills needed to design startup support journeys and events for our ecosystem, while maintaining Rockstart’s high quality of execution and level of satisfaction scores. Your main responsibilities are:

• Collaborate with the Startup Support Lead and Content Coordinator in offering tailored and impactful startup support: being ingrained in the entire process of planning (incl. budgeting), executing and evaluating the value of Rockstart's support;
• Engage with startups and understand their needs and plan and leverage our network of trainers, mentors, investors and other ecosystem members for the purpose of supporting the startups' development accordingly;
• Create evaluation reports ensuring that we can always improve our support towards each stakeholder;
• Plan selection events and prepare briefing materials, presentations, and meetings for all the people involved in the selection process of the startups, including in-person events when relevant;
• Team up with our marketing department, to coordinate marketing support to our newly onboarded startups;
• Work closely with the other members of the startup support team, to ensure perfect execution of impactful projects and events.

You have a natural curiosity to learn more about the complexities of the startups, the startup ecosystems, and a desire to create value. You get a buzz of executing a well organized project or event, ensuring all startups are not only enjoying themselves but gaining knowledge to enable them to apply learnings directly to their day-to-day, making their vision a success.

This role will require social and networking skills, testing your ability to understand the client's needs. You are a team player, always have a solution-driven attitude, and can work calmly and well under pressure.

You have pride in the quality of your work, and are detail-oriented, always trying to make a lasting impact.

Must have requirements:

• A degree in business administration, innovation, project management, business design, or any related field;
• You have knowledge and a deep interest in startup development methodology;
• You are a natural planner and have 1-2 years of experience in operations, and program execution, in either a startup, corporate, or incubator/accelerator program;
• You are a strong communicator who gains energy from networking and meeting people;
• You have a proactive, entrepreneurial, results-oriented attitude with an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced organization;
• You are fluent in English;
• Experience in a customer facing position would be a bonus.

Start: August 2024

Availability: 40 hours per week.

Duration: 7-month initial contract, with the intention to renew long-term for the right candidate.
