In E&S our activities are divided into the following product areas; Edible Oil, Agro & Protein, Brewery, and Evaporation Systems. Your main responsibility will be to coordinate electrical & automation engineering packages, as well as to keep and develop our engineering discipline know-how on a high level. Your main tasks include:

  • Handle & execute mid- and large size hardware/software orders in consultation with PM.
  • Carry out automation/Electrical engineering which include, specifying complete control systems for hardware and software, preparing necessary technical documentation. Carry out detailed electrical/instrument engineering work incl. motors, instruments, PLC, control cabinet.
  • Design and built electrical panels according to specifications and corresponding standards.
  • Support start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting either on distance or on site.

In this role, you also will act as the Automation Lead for the Electrical and Automation departments across Engineering & Supply (E&S) sites. Your responsibilities will include providing sales support, conducting specification reviews, supporting project execution, and participating in customer meetings. You will liaise and communicate with other E&S teams, business units, and relevant departments, including networking across E&S sites and particularly with the AD team. Staying updated with new automation technologies and tools, you will implement them as necessary to enhance our processes.

A key part of your role will be to implement uniform automation workflows and templates, ensuring that work is carried out in a more structured and efficient manner, thereby securing high-quality results. You will also provide clarity for the teams across E&S sites about the available automation standards, ensuring consistency and compliance across all projects.

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Copenhagen office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 20 - 30 days per year.

What You Know
We envision that you hold an engineering degree in electrical, instrumentation, automation, or a related field. You bring 8-10 years of practical project experience in electrical and automation engineering and design work. Your expertise includes familiarity with European and US engineering codes and standards, as well as international design and safety standards such as EX and SIL, which would be a significant advantage.

Your background includes experience in programming and commissioning control systems, including instrumentation. Additionally, project management skills within the automation domain would be beneficial.

Being part of a global organization, proficiency in speaking and writing English is essential.

Your work is characterized by a strong attention to detail and a structured approach. You possess a positive drive combined with an execution-focused mindset, enabling you to deliver engineering solutions according to customer contracts, on time, achieving both customer satisfaction and favorable commercial outcomes for AL. Additionally, you bring a keen awareness of cross-cultural dynamics, allowing you to effectively collaborate and thrive in a diverse, global environment.
