We are searching for Java Engineers for API development

Do you want to play a vital role in delivering and enabling BEC’s Tech Transformation for API adoption? This is the chance to join a new team with the purpose to accelerate building APIs and Kafka event streaming across BEC.

We are searching for software engineers to join the newly established “Integration Enabling” team. They will work across the organization as an API/event specialist to ensure an availability of APIs to the benefit of the highest prioritized projects for our customers.

You will be part of a team of developers who are seeking to specialize in event streaming and API development. You are driven by your passion for developing the APIs and events that will enable BEC to succeed in delivering high-value projects for our customers.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate across BEC to define API requirements and specifications.
  • Design and develop high-quality APIs that adhere to best practices.
  • Give technical assistance to Domains to build and maintain APIs on their own.
  • Optimize API performance and scalability to meet users demands.
  • Give tactical assistance to aid transformations initiatives for applications and platforms by providing plans that mitigate integrations risks.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and guides for API consumers.
  • Stay updated on trends to continuously improve our API development.

To succeed you will have:

  • Proficiency in Java programming with Spring framework
  • Experience in building REST API or Kafka event
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline and OpenShift
  • To produce high-quality technical documents, such as development guidelines and best practices
  • To collaborate and contribute to API development standards and frameworks in BEC
  • A keen eye for identifying issues and is equally enthusiastic about bringing positive change to the way our organization adopts API
  • Not only strong technical skills but also fearlessly tackle unfamiliar technologies
  • To be actively engaged in knowledge sharing, willingly share your expertise with colleagues, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment
  • API modeling knowledge – understanding the balance between enterprise data models and good consumer-focused API modeling.
  • To assist in standardizing API modeling and documentation across APIs

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge in architecture patterns
  • Knowledge about Mainframe/Cobol programming
