About DD&IT R&ED
Research and Early Development IT (R&ED IT) is a unit in Digital, Data, and IT that provides IT solutions when new treatments are discovered, and molecules are being developed. We are the IT partner of Research and Early Development.

Our responsibility is to leverage new technology and digitalisation and offer a sustainable IT infrastructure needed to bring forward all the work done through important research. To highlight what we do, we build IT solutions to help capture data, provide a cloud foundation to manage the data and do advanced analytics with high-performance computing.

With us in R&ED IT, you will step into a sweet spot between IT and research and be part of the first step in the process, from research to the patient. Our area counts +70 engaged employees that span Denmark, India, the US, the UK, and China. We are on a growth journey with Novo Nordisk and expect our unit to grow accordingly.

The job
As our new People Leader, you will contribute to the great working culture and engaging people development at Novo Nordisk. Leading one of our tech groups by coaching and developing people and their competencies is the focus area, where you shall use your IT and Engineering knowledge from past. You are responsible for ensuring high engagement, set high-level directions and clearly communicate current and future priorities aligning with agile product teams where your team would be deployed.

You will partner closely with other Technology People Leaders from the vertical and other LOBs to ensure that we establish and drive a strong collaboration.

In the role as People Leader in context of Technology, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Direct Manager for around 20 cloud engineers and tech leads covering HPC and hybrid cloud engineering
  • Be anchor of strategy within own department area of expertise
  • Ensure the well-being and development of group members
  • Develop and drive people strategy including attraction, recruitment, and retainment
  • Support and engage group members to adapt best practices and improved ways of working to improve architecture and quality of deliverables
  • Partner and collaborate closely with the business (e.g., Product Owners and Scientific Engineering Manager) to create the best possible environment for high-performing product teams
  • You have ability to lead through ambiguity and bring alignment by keeping business needs, users and customers forefront of the discussions
  • Be part of driving DD&IT R&ED to succeed as a partner for R&ED organization

We are looking for someone who is passionate about high performance computing and IT cloud infrastructure. You excel at being servant leader for people. You like to challenge the status quo and inspire the people in the team.

Candidate profile

  • An academic background in a relevant field e.g. IT or engineering
  • 4+ years of leadership experience from a similar role
  • Experience in navigating through large matrix organizations
  • Experience supporting agile transformation through personal advocacy, engagement, and leadership
  • Background within Agile software development (5+ years hands experience) is must to have
