Production Engineering Manager

Job Summary
Managing a team of PED Engineers who will be responsible for all aspects of production engineering and will be involved during each level of the product life cycle. From initial design concept to initial manufacturing and production support. You'll have an in-depth understanding of the technologies and processes involved in delivering in this high-tech, high-value field, and be an expert in your specialism.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the Support of manufacturing both onsite and within the supply chain.
- Lead innovative, cost-effective solutions using industry best practices.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation.
- Support the data pack / Release note process for all new/legacy products.
- Manage Design for Manufacture, Design for Test and Design for Cost and ensure delivery throughout the project phase.
- Work with R&D from the outset to drive Design for Manufacture and Design for test, resulting in high quality, form, fit and function at the lowest cost.
- Ensure lean manufacturing is championed and best practice followed.
- Train and coach members of the team.
- Manage implementation of workplace health and safety systems.
- Negotiate with suppliers and providers of service.
Education & Previous Experience Requirements
- 2:1 or above bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Acoustic, Audio, or similar)
- Greater than 10 years’ experience in a related role.
- Familiarity with Electronic and/or Mechanical CAD tools.
- Previous experience leading a team either formally by job title or otherwise.
- Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
- A strong ability to work as a team both internally and externally.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.
- Willing and able to travel internationally.
Work Hours
37 Hours (Full Time): 8.15 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday with 45 minutes for lunch and 8.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. on Friday.
These are core hours and from time-to-time additional hours may need to be worked in order to successfully fulfil the requirements of the position.
