About the job
We are seeking a skilled Automation Hardware Engineer to join our Automation Development team within the Research & Development (R&D) department at Alfa Laval. This role focuses on our Heat and Gas products for marine vessels. The Automation Development department, consisting of 25 professionals specializing in software development, control panels, and data science, is based in Aalborg and Nijmegen (Netherlands). As one of the 5 Hardware Engineers your main tasks will be to:
- Develop and maintain electrical panel standards for a diverse range of products and systems using EPLAN P8 software.
- Design control panels and select appropriate components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Deliver engineering solutions that align with Alfa Laval’s business strategy.
- Ensure smooth handover to our Project Engineering and Service organization.
- Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Manage engineering changes in compliance with established processes.
- Alignment with control panel suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Participate in development projects, contributing to the advancement of our products.

What you know
- You have solid knowledge about panel design and choosing electrical components.
- You have a relevant educational background i.e. as Marine Engineer with electrical experience, electrician combined with bachelor education, automation technician or similar.
- We expect that you have experience with EPLAN P8 or similar electrical drawing software.
- Experience with EPLAN ProPanel (or similar) and Harness is an advantage.
- Experience from marine industry is an advantage.
As part of a global organization, speaking and writing English is a prerequisite.
