The position will be based in Copenhagen, but we are also open to candidates abroad, supporting them with relocation.

The position
As the Associate Director for New Product Planning in the Cardiorenal therapeutic area, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining portfolio strategies and Commercial Guidance to ensure the successful execution of Novo Nordisk’s strategies. This role involves overseeing the timely delivery of high-quality commercial outputs and leading the planning and execution of crucial team meetings related to early commercialization efforts. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and updating business cases for late-stage portfolio projects and representing CETA Early Portfolio & Insights in pivotal governance interactions.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and update portfolio strategies and commercial guidance for assigned strategic areas in Cardiorenal.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality commercial outputs in alignment with the Global Project Framework.
  • Plan and execute Cardiorenal Early Commercialisation Team meetings, aligning key commercial stakeholders across HQ, North America, and IO operations.
  • Oversee the development and updating of business cases for late-stage portfolio projects, preparing for the Spring Review with CETA Senior Management.
  • Lead the development of commercial deliverables for key development projects and represent CETA Early Portfolio & Insights in governance interactions with EDComm, PDCouncil, and DPPComm.

Qualifications

  • Master’s/PhD in economics or business combined with extensive skills in natural science, OR Master’s/PhD in life science combined with strong commercial understanding.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience within pharmaceutical industry, working with the portfolio and launches. Would be valuable to have new product planning experience.
  • Will be a plus to have experience working in a big pharmaceutical company, as well as some previous experience working from consultancy to pharma industry.
  • You have extensive experience working with early stages.
  • To have M&A and/or financial cases modelling experience will be an advantage.

As a person, you are someone with outstanding communication skills, adept at stakeholder management, and equipped with strong project management abilities.

You don’t need to bring experience in cardiovascular or kidney, but could be taken in consideration as a plus. To succeed in this role, you will need to be fluent in both written and spoken English.

About the Department
The Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas (CETA) EP&I team at Novo Nordisk provides strategic guidance for R&D and Commercial sectors in new disease areas, including Cardiovascular Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, MASH & liver disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. This involves exploring new targets, modalities, and molecular formats like gene therapy and RNAi technologies. The team conducts advanced analyses such as disease segment opportunity mapping and peak sales analysis, requiring a high level of expertise. Specialized skills are essential, surpassing those needed for Novo Nordisk’s heritage areas. Employees within CETA EP&I require strong value chain expertise and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry within the CETA disease areas.
