Maersk Oil Trading (MOT) is looking for a Fuel Trader to join our dynamic trading team in our Copenhagen office.
As Fuel Trader you will join a top-tier team of experienced traders, dedicated to securing pivotal energy deals for one of the industry's leading names. A global environment designed for those with keen commercial instinct and a deep understanding of the marine fuels market. You will collaborate with our dedicated Energy Markets units, such as operations, to ensure a smooth flow of both traditional marine fuel and sustainable fuels such as biofuel and methanol. To truly shine in this role, a cooperative spirit and a proactive mindset is essential.
Your interactions will not be limited within one team. You will engage with Maersk's diverse teams, from the wider Energy Transition team to the OCEAN department and beyond. Hence, this role offers a chance to build a robust internal network while forging meaningful ties with external stakeholders across the marine fuels industry.
We in MOT manage more than 12 million metric tonnes of fuel annually, a diverse fuel mix from our trading offices in Copenhagen, Geneva, Singapore and New York.

In this role you will:
- Carry out back-back bunker trading for the Maersk Fleet
- Forge and maintain dynamic internal and external relationships with Maersk OCEAN and with global ocean partners.
- Set and achieve objectives, delivering on your work responsibilities with precision and expertise.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the business, your functional area, and interdependencies with other functions.
- Work independently within a broad framework, exercising authority and solving complex challenges.
- Be a self-starter with desire to grow a business and develop their own role within it
- Assess the potential impact of proposed solutions and collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risks.
- You will have personal integrity that align with Maersk core values

- You have a sound understanding of the International Bunker business (Ports / Suppliers / Owners / Charterers / Regulations)
- You are a team player with strong ambitions and self-drive

- You are known for your ability to strategize, negotiate, and execute plans that meet immediate and long-term objectives.
This role requires participation on global trading teams which require the wiliness to work various hours to manage communication across the globe
