Scientist at Global Raw Material, Formulation & Colour Management
Location: Lyngby, Denmark

As a Scientist, you will have the opportunity to dive into the world of formulations, raw materials and production processes.

Role Overview:

  • Formulation Maintenance: Assist in maintaining corporate formulations related to composition and production processes.
  • Optimization: Collaborate with the team to optimize formulations, balancing quality and cost effectively.
  • Experimentation: Prepare experimental paints and test specimens to contribute to ongoing research & development efforts.
  • Material Testing: Test alternative and new raw materials, evaluating their suitability for various coating systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and evaluation of current and experimental coating systems, ensuring they meet agreed standards and specifications.
  • Documentation: Keep meticulous records of laboratory activities and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Support: Provide assistance to Production-lab related to formulations and assist in handling complaints.
  • Knowledge Development: Continuously learn and develop expertise in raw materials and formulations within and outside the department.

Key Success Criteria:

  • Meeting project milestones.
  • Optimizing a specified number of formulations.
  • Successfully finalizing a set number of requests.
  • Reviewing/substituting a designated number of raw materials.

Work Relations and Stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with team members and other R&D departments.
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders including Procurement, Suppliers, Group Operations, HSE, Sustainability and Supply Chain.
  • Navigate cross-cultural interactions both internally and externally.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Solid background in coating chemistry and raw materials.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is essential.
  • Technical proficiency and experience in research and development projects are advantageous.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and make informed decisions based on education and experience.
  • Confidence to take initiative and make decisions autonomously.
