About the Role
As the Manager of the Process Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in enhancing process engineering competencies and helping us advance in the production of biopharmaceutical products!

You will lead a dynamic and well-functioning team of Equipment Responsible Engineers and Support Technicians, providing leadership and direction to a dedicated group of Process Engineers. We offer a role with significant individual responsibility and challenges, along with the opportunity to utilize and develop your leadership skills.

We collaborate with various stakeholders across our organization, including production, IT, MSAT, and QA, both locally and globally. In our technical team, your leadership will be based on your knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment and systems. Your broad understanding of process engineering and equipment will help us drive innovation, capital investments, and the integration of new technologies to ensure our manufacturing systems are reliable, compliant, and high performing.

You will…

  • Set the direction for the Process Engineering department, which consists of 12 highly skilled engineers.
  • Act as a mentor and coach for team members, ensuring their growth and development in projects.
  • Assign the right people and balance capacity according to project demands.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to develop, prioritize, and manage projects aimed at enhancing operational robustness and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and drive strategic initiatives within the department aligned with the overall AGC Biologics strategy.
  • Stay informed about future technological trends in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Maintain the standards and guidelines related to process deliverables, for which you will have overall responsibility.

  • A degree in Engineering in chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the Pharma or Biotech industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated industry.
  • Understanding of process discipline in bulk API production (mammalian and/or microbial processes) and the ability to effectively communicate technical issues with teams.
  • An empowering leadership style that is positive, open, honest, and holistic, ensuring high team engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to unite people around a common purpose.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a results-oriented and well-structured work approach.
  • Deep understanding of process engineering and the ability to discuss technical issues with employees, along with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • A strategic mindset to ensure our deliveries and employees remain at the forefront of the industry.
