Simulation Development is a new, rapidly growing department of highly motivated engineers, responsible for propelling and maturing how we simulate across our wind turbine platforms and modules.

Join our Modelling team as a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer, and you will have the opportunity to support the modular product development across the engineering departments of Vestas Power Solutions (VPS). With your expertise within CFD, you will support designers in researching and improving their designs related to cooling, lubrication, or hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities
- As a CFD Engineer, your primary responsibilities include:
- Thermal-fluid analysis of cooling and lubrication systems using high fidelity approaches like CFD
- Verification and validation of CFD models according to best practices
- Automation of simulation workflows related to CFD and response surface / surrogate model creation
- Support platform and technology development projects in Converter & Electrical, Powertrain, Hub or Nacelle modules with thermodynamic and fluid mechanical knowledge
- Your expertise will contribute to the creation of cost-effective designs, improved internal processes, and the elevation of simulation practices to the highest industry standards. By embracing a collaborative mindset, you will play a central part in achieving the collective goals of the team and the company.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or equivalent with specialization in fluid mechanics and heat transfer
Competencies
- Experience with ANSYS Fluent and SpaceClaim (or equivalent tools)
- Experience with programming languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with systems modelling and simulation
- Knowledge of git
- Knowledge of MATLAB Simulink - Modelica – DevOps
- Knowledge of project management
- The candidate should be: - Curious, humble and excited about learning - Ingenious problem solver - Fluent in English - Good communicator - Collaborative approach
