In Global Procurement we work to create value for Pandora through sustainable supplier relationships. At the heart of Pandoras growth strategy Phoenix is a focus on investing in our global retail network including the roll-out of our new Evoke store concept. This role will be a pivotal part of this significant investment and be a major contributor to the future success of Pandora.

As the Construction Director in the Global Procurement team at Pandora, you will hold a pivotal role in optimizing the overall procurement approach to the process of constructing our stores on a global scale. You will be the Subject Matter Expert on construction across Pandora and leverage your network in the business. This includes the tender process, build-out process, and follow-up activities across all units leased by Pandora, including our stores, warehouses, and offices. In the role you will need to demonstrate proven leadership skills in a matrix organisation, visualize and implement optimization strategies for store build-outs, set targets and consistently follow up on progress, and share best practices with key stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing capex: Through your deep construction category expertise, you will be responsible for identifying improvements and savings opportunities for our store portfolio expansion and refurbishment projects. You will also influence our approach to other larger CAPEX projects. Completing a CAP
  • Supplier relationship management: You will be in ongoing dialogue with key suppliers in our largest markets (General contractors etc.) to ensure feedback is given both ways – to drive up supplier performance and leveraging our partners knowledge in our optimization strategies.
  • Develop & share best practices: You will engage local cluster property teams and suppliers to develop best practices for build-outs, value engineering, and supplier tendering and share best practices globally including use of any relevant tools/systems
  • Setting and reporting on targets: You will establish targets regarding time, scope, and investments, and regularly follow up and report on target fulfilment
  • Optimizing hard facility services: You will consider the life time of the store and implement strategies to optimize spend for our hard facility services such as maintenance, HVAC, lighting, plumbing etc. with a view to energy consumption and climate emissions. You will work closely with the Category Manager for soft facility management services.
  • Responsible Procurement: Ensure adherence to Pandora’s Responsible Sourcing Policy. This means that you must ensure we conduct business lawfully, appropriately and with honesty and integrity by adhering to applicable laws and regulations, exercising sound judgment and taking actions to minimize our environmental impact on the planet. Also, this role will be responsible for delivering on relevant scope 2 and 3 emission targets.

Your main counterparts will include the Global Procurement team in the Global office and in the Clusters, The Global Network and Cluster Network teams, the Reporting & Analytics team, Store Design and Creative, Sustainability, and representatives from our Finance departments. Through collaboration with these teams, you will ensure streamlined and efficient processes that align with Pandora’s global standards.

Additionally, we hope that you have and can demonstrate:

  • Min. 5 years of experience in construction-related roles from retail construction and facility management.
  • Experience from managing the construction aspect of a global retail concept roll out is an advantage.
  • A master’s degree within Business Finance, Architecture, Engineering or similar
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and business units to build trust & confidence
  • Keen to challenge “status-quo” and are well structured and organized
  • Strong analytical skill set with clear business focus
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with ability to engage and follow-up with all levels of the organization and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Experience of working in a global or regional role structure
  • Ability to evaluate impact on customer experience vs capex spend
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office i.e. Excel and PowerPoint
