Join us in this role where you’ll be deeply involved in the implementation of our human rights approach as a maternity cover for our human rights lead. We want to ensure that we conduct our business in a responsible manner while working towards a world that runs entirely on green energy. This also applies with respect to human rights, where we want to ensure that we meet regulatory requirements, as well as external stakeholder expectations. We have an exciting plan for the upcoming year in terms of implementing our human right management systems in Ørsted which we would like you to be part of.

You’ll be part of the Sustainability Due Diligence and Compliance team where you, together with your colleagues, will enable the organisation to strengthen its position as a globally recognised sustainability leader. We are part of the Global Sustainability department that offers an international and ambitious working environment comprised of specialists within climate, environmental, social sustainability, and human rights. We continuously engage key stakeholders to understand their sustainability expectations, pushing the bar for corporate sustainability performance.
You’ll play an important role in:
- implementing our human rights road map designed to meet international human rights expectations as described in international conventions and legislation, such as UNGP, CSDDD, etc.
- ensuring that our human rights policy commitment is backed up by a strong implementation practice and a solid governance
- supporting the implementation of our systematic approach to human rights due diligence across our value chain
- alignment with external stakeholders and investors on our human rights approach
- developing strong communication initiatives on our human rights approach for internal and external reporting.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a strong human rights expertise and knowledge of international human rights standards, frameworks, guidelines, and legislation, such as the UNGPs, core ILO standards, and existing and upcoming human rights legislation
- know how to manage human rights projects or other complex sustainability projects in a large organisation and how to mobilise the needed support from various internal stakeholder groups
- possess strategic orientation that allows you to identify human rights trends and stakeholder expectations, translating them into business priorities and short-term actions
- have strong skills related to managing and reporting on salient human rights issues
- are well-versed in your communication in oral and written English, can develop convincing top-down analyses, positions, and decision materials, and can adjust your style of communication to the audience.
