Data stewards / bioinformaticians / data scientists with interest in women’s health at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Hvidovre Hospital

We seek multiple data stewards / bioinformaticians / data scientists with a strong background in omics data handling and/or analysis to join our data science team. The data science team is responsible for data management, analytical pipelines, model development and statistical analysis. We run projects integrating multi-omics data (whole-genome sequencing, metagenomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) to develop predictive AI models that can assist clinicians in decision making. Our goal is to uncover factors contributing to conditions within the area of gynaecology, obstetrics, and women’s health, such as pregnancy loss, pregnancy complications, and fertility.
Your job:
As a part of the data science team, you will be responsible for data management tasks and/or help develop computational pipelines and analytical models. Specifically, there will be a strong focus on quality control of data, automation, and documentation of pipelines. All work will be done in close collaboration with clinical researchers from the department.
You will be part of a growing environment, in which medical doctors, biologists, geneticists, and data scientists openly discuss issues and solutions to advance precision women’s health.
Qualifications:
Candidates for the positions must hold a BSc/MSc/PhD from a relevant program (e.g., bioinformatics, genetics, data science, computer science, physics, computational biology, medicine, or similar). The successful candidates will have qualifications within one or more of the following:
- Strong expertise in programming (Python and/or R)
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating system, command lines and shell scripting
- Experience with at least one of the following: statistical analysis, machine learning, data management, or system administration
- Knowledge of a workflow management system, e.g., snakemake, and git version control
- Proficient organizational skills and ability to work individually as well as in teams
Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is expected.
