The position
As a Senior Corporate Counsel, you will be the lead and subject matter expert on commercial legal matters related to the Cardiovascular and Emerging Therapy Areas (CETA) business in our headquarters, working in collaboration with other team members covering CETA, as well as colleagues in our CETA Commercial Unit and International Operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Being responsible for the legal support provided to CETA commercial functions in headquarters, including securing compliance with internal and external rules in relation to product communications and promotion

• Driving legal support to CETA, including advising on strategy and new business models, closely collaborating with legal and compliance in headquarters and globally

• Proactively driving processes and initiatives to secure legal compliance for CETA, in order to unlock opportunities as well as protect the company and its units

• Providing impactful legal advice in cross functional teams and on key strategic CETA projects including new global product launches and label updates

• Driving training of global legal and business stakeholders, including developing proactive guidelines and tools to help navigate complex legal and compliance matters

• Developing innovative legal solutions to new and challenging issues in a changing environment

You will be engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders both within Global Legal and across the organisation, as well as external counsels and third parties. It will be your responsibility to handle key tasks independently, while also collaborating with the lawyers in the team and abroad.

The workplaces will be in Bagsværd and Søborg, Denmark. As part of the Global Legal organisation, you would also be involved with cross-functional Global Legal projects. Additionally, various opportunities within Novo Nordisk in Denmark and abroad offer potential for further personal development.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you hold a Law degree and have 5+ years of experience from a major law firm or in-house legal department. Other success criteria are:

• Life sciences industry experience strongly preferred (e.g. advisory experience regarding the promotion of pharmaceutical products)

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Strategic thinking and ability to lead and set direction in a complex global stakeholder landscape

• Attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines

• Strong communication skills and fluency in English

Furthermore, we expect you to be curious and have a “can-do”, solution-oriented, and positive attitude, which enables you to establish strong professional relationships internally and externally.

About the department
You will be a key part of the high performing, dynamic and international Commercial legal team consisting of 9 lawyers and 1 project manager in Denmark and 6 lawyers in Bangalore that are legal business partners to Marketing, Commercial, Public Affairs and Corporate Communication.

The team is part of the Pharma Law team in Global Legal & Patents, located in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark. Novo Nordisk’s global legal organisation consists of more than 300 legal colleagues situated at +40 locations around the world.
