The position
As an Associate Manager, you will head up our Early Scouting team of highly skilled scientists and engineers, which has a fundamental role in scouting new technologies so that we can develop and implement even more PAT methods.

The responsibility of the team is to scout for new technologies to enable the development of more and new PAT methods. The team is also responsible for securing that future production equipment (both for development and commercial production) has the right prerequisites for development and implementation of PAT methods.

• As a Manager, you will be scoping ideas, drive delivery of business results, as well as resource and stakeholder management. You set the direction for the team, and you lead and develop your employees for growth and high performance, both individually and as a group.

• As the team is new, your focus is also to build the roles, responsibilities, and tasks within the team as well as the collaboration with other teams and departments.

• You will need to set structure and secure optimised processes through cLEAN and while at the same time creating the right frames for an innovative environment.

• You will be a part of an ambitious and newly set management group that supports and helps each other to reach results for the business. Since we are breaking new land, prioritisation, and willingness to adapt to changes and new priorities is key for success.

Qualifications
To be a success in this position you have:

• A master’s degree in pharmacy, engineering or similar.

• Has a minimum of 2 years of experience as Manager.

• A strategic and visionary mindset

• A structured way of working

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Fluent in Danish and English both written and spoken.

Knowledge within science and having a PhD within a scientific field, as well as knowledge about product /process development is in you favour but not a requirement.

On a personal level you have a positive can-do attitude. You must have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as the team has a lot of cooperation within many other departments within our organisation as well as within the department.

As an excellent people manager, you’re able to translate strategy into ambitious goals and create a motivated and empowered team with high well-being. As our tasks are complex, you are able to quickly gain overview over possible solutions for problems and consequences, can prioritize and make bold decisions.

About the department
The department is newly established from 1st of February 2024 and is a part of Oral Product Development (OPDev) in the tablet area of Emerging Technologies (ET). The department is responsible for developing and implementing PAT methods for all the new products that are being developed within ET. We are highly co-dependent of the process and product development teams in another department, so the collaboration with them is of great importance and is a big part of the job.

We are breaking new grounds with new technologies and new ways of looking at PAT in Novo Nordisk and therefore this position entails being a part of creating a strategic understanding of the potential for PAT methods in our organisation.

As a new department we are building a solid leadership foundation, where collaboration, honesty, trust, and empowerment are key principles. Having fun and laughing are important values for us as a management group and we always look out for each other.

The department currently consists of four teams that work together to develop and implement new PAT applications for the oral drug product pipeline.
Each team has a specific responsibility:

• Team 1 focuses on early development, Proof of Concept, and scouting for new PAT applications.

• Team 2 is responsible for developing PAT methods for specific drug products.

• Team 3 validates and implements the PAT methods for commercial application.

• Team 4 manages the overall portfolio of PAT projects in Oral Product Development and consists of project managers responsible for PAT projects for each drug product.
