Senior Manager, Design & Engineering

As Senior Manager of Design and Engineering (D&E), you will have a unique chance to shape performance and innovative culture and expand Welltec’s impact towards a more sustainable energy industry.

The team and the role

You will join Welltec’s D&E function to provide leadership and set direction for a team of 17 engineers and designers at two locations (Denmark and Poland) of which you will have 15 as direct reports including two managers. You will assume full responsibility for the daily management of the complete team.

The role holds great potential for the right candidate for personal development and especially for developing your leadership skills as you will be both responsible for your own projects, people management, along with high level stakeholder management.
The team that you will join is responsible for the development and maintenance of Welltec’s proprietary well intervention technologies ranging from the Well Tractor with more than 20 years of service time to new and innovative technologies which are constantly introduced to the market through Welltec’s global footprint.

You will also be part of a leadership team for the whole D&E function in a globally diverse company with over 60 nationalities in total. You will be reporting directly to the SVP of Engineering & Manufacturing.

To be fit for the role, you should be a person who likes to lead teams and projects through involvement and structure. You like to take responsibility and you excel equally in both technical and leadership challenges.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• People Leadership of a department of 17 engineers and designers.
• Collaborating across Welltec with the peer functions and global areas - including Commercial, Global Operations and the international D&E offices in Brazil and Poland
• Own and manage technical projects through all development phases
• Provide your guidance and input in your specific expert areas across the whole organization
• Create strategies for process improvements and drive the implementation of these with the rest of the leadership team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited by technology, people and open-ended challenges as described above. To perform well in this role, you should also have the following qualifications or similar competencies:

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline - such as mechanical engineering, naval engineering, or electronics. Alternatively, you have practical experience that is relevant for the job
• Project management experience: Leading or experience with playing a central role in driving projects by being responsible for the project process, content and day-to-day stakeholder interactions
• People leader experience: leading a team with focus on implementing improvements and developing people and team(s)
• Strong presence and people skills
• A broad range of experience from different companies
