We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with a strong technical background to lead and manage projects focused on EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) for space missions, predominantly for ESA space missions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronics engineering, with expertise in software like Linux, C++, Python, as well as hardware design, particularly PCB design. Familiarity with ESA missions and the associated processes will be a significant advantage. A high affinity for project management work and prior project management experience are highly desirable. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of space missions through management, design, development, and testing of Terma’s EGSE systems ensuring proper function of customers satellites.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage and oversee EGSE projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for the development of our EGSE systems.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact with ESA and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals and technical requirements.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to understand their needs and requirements, provide updates on project progress, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Presales Support: Work closely with the sales team to provide technical presales support, including participating in client meetings, understanding customer needs, and aligning technical solutions with client requirements. Lead the preparation of technical proposals for new offers, including defining project scopes, developing technical solutions, and preparing cost and resource estimates.
- Processes: Navigate and adhere to ESA-specific development processes and standards, ensuring all projects are compliant and effectively executed.
- Demand & Supply management: Track project demands for own products and track the internal supply chain for timely internal deliveries.
- Team Coordination: Work collaboratively with cross-functional international teams, including engineers, developers, and technicians, to drive project success.
Qualification:
- Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field. PM certification beneficial.
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in technical project management, ideally within the space sector or a related high-tech industry.
- Familiarity with ESA missions and their processes is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux, C++, Python.
- Experience in hardware/PCB design.
- Beneficial: Interface standards like MIL STD 1553-Bus, Spacewire, CAN-bus.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer engagement skills with the ability to understand and meet customer expectations.
- Beneficial: Experience in technical presales and proposal development, including preparing technical documentation and cost estimates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Language:
- English C1 or better
- German beneficial
