Key Responsibilities:
As Category Manager in Ocean Asset Partnerships, you will work closely with our technical and operational teams and with suppliers to define and deliver cost-competitive, differentiated solutions to the Maersk global fleet of vessels. You will be a key contributor to the continued development and implementation of Maersk Procurement’s ESG strategy with a strong focus on the decarbonization of Maersk’s operations. You will build a broad network and collaborative relationships to implement our category strategies and support various stakeholders on the many interesting innovation and retrofit projects.
Your responsibilities include:
- Building and executing on exciting and aggressive strategies with our team in Mumbai to ensure cost leadership.
- High level of internal and external stakeholder management with emphasis on creating partnerships which support our strategies.
- Driving cross functional projects to deliver on our ambitious year-on-year cost reduction targets.
- Offer evaluation, building negotiation strategies, and negotiating multi-million dollar contracts or projects.
- Establishing and applying cost modelling concepts, spend & demand analysis, and evaluations.
- Addressing day-to-day operational queries within your area of responsibility.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about all the auxiliary machinery installed in our fleet, and who has the will, curiosity, and experience to impact the business.

- You are an action-orientated individual with minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or technical sales & marketing within the maritime, transport or other relevant industry, for example as category manager, product manager or project manager.
- You need to possess refined communication and interpersonal skills, and you get excited by taking an active part in the transformation of our organization to further support our customer’s needs.
- You have a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business.
- You are open-minded, curious, and like to challenge both yourself and our organization to continuously develop and reach the next level. You have a strong personal drive and take pleasure in working in a global diverse team.
- You are good at solving complex business problems in a structured and analytical manner, e.g., via project management and negotiations. Effective communication to senior management will be an important part of your work. Excellent English written and spoken is required, and your educational background is likely BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
