About the role

The Value Realization Finance Partner plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s technology investments are grounded in robust financial analysis and deliver tangible benefits. This role is designed to help keep the organization honest about the digital dividends and the progress of strategic technology investments. By providing an arm’s length validation of the benefits from these investments, this position ensures that investment decisions are data-driven and aligned with Maersk’s strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will navigate a complex matrix organization and stakeholder landscape to align on the platform roadmap, track progress, and measure outcomes from technology development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tech Investment Vetting: Review and vet technology investment proposals before approval, ensuring they meet Maersk’s investment analysis standards regarding success criteria, outcomes, and financial benefits. Provide an independent assessment to support informed decision-making.
  • Business Case Development:Support and advise investment owners in documenting business cases, establishing a direct link between tech enablement and desired outcomes. Assist in the financial modeling of benefits before investment approval, particularly during the annual Operational Planning (OP) process.
  • Co-Creation of Benefit Cases:Collaborate on the creation of tech investment benefit cases using the value map framework. Facilitate data-driven discussions with tangible metrics and ensure sign-off on benefits from the P&L owner (ELT-1).
  • Digital Dividend Integration: Upon investment approval, work closely with Business FBPs to ensure that validated digital dividends are incorporated into financial planning processes, including budgets and business plans.
  • Metric Identification & Data Sourcing: Identify and prioritize relevant metrics and appropriate data sources within the value map to enable effective tracking of financial benefits.
  • Page0 Metrics Reporting: Support the FP&A team in defining and reporting Page0 metrics, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Ongoing Investment Tracking: Track and report quarterly on the financial benefits of ongoing tech investments to the ECR. Ensure visibility of progress and impact.
  • Value Recalculation: In the event of investment changes or platform roadmap adjustments, provide input for recalculating value. Ensure continuous updates to tracking mechanisms and obtain sign-off from the P&L owner.
  • Framework Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the standard framework, implementing new solutions for articulating investments, tracking, monitoring, and harvesting benefits.
  • Governance & Change Management: Support the Enterprise Change Operating System by adhering to governance processes for tech investments and providing input for ongoing improvement initiatives.

What are we looking for

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field and Relevant work experience in finance positions, particularly within Investment Analysis.
  • Strong business partnering skills with a keen interest in technology and its impact on business outcomes.
  • An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent planning and execution skills, ensuring effective and timely delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, delivering high-quality results even in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on achieving results and driving continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and influence others without formal authority
