The Job
The Head of Marine HR Operations (PH) will be part of the TORM PH Management team and the global Marine HR Management team. You will be responsible for leading a team of fourteen people within Marine HR Crewing, and you will be reporting to the Head of TORM Philippines and Marine HR Philippines.The right candidate will enjoy a role with the opportunity for vast cross functional involvement and get insights in the whole value chain of TORM.

The Head of Marine HR Operations (PH) ensures the appraisal, succession planning and development of direct reports.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Regular one-on-one session with direct reports, track performance’ progress, mentor and provide necessary guidance
  • Ensure Memorandum of Agreement with all partner vendors are regularly reviewed and well documented
  • Ownership of department’s standard process in accordance with Company’s Quality Management System
  • Follow-up and closure of findings from internal and external audit related to handled department
  • Crewing System (COMPAS) management related to crewing tasks
  • Monthly reporting of operational key performance indicator (KPI) results.

Furthermore, the Head of Marine HR Operations (PH) also ensures the efficient crewing operations, including crew planning and compliance to government contracts, flag state and trade union of one thousand eight hundred Filipino seafarers of all ranks.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for:

  • Effective seafarer planning and back-to-back planning of identified positions
  • Establish stability of fleet strength through regular monitoring & strategic coordination
  • Ensure high reliability & data quality of the crewing system (COMPAS).
  • Cost-efficient crew change arrangement and other crew-related transactions
  • Assist to resolve seafarers dispute or concern through regular vessel call or any other means of communication
  • Maintain effective communication with vessel management, operations, HSSE, vetting, agents, and other relevant parties

The Profile
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven with at least five years of relevant work experience in the field of crewing operations. The right candidate holds a relevant educational background in Maritime Studies, Business Economics, Administration, Psychology or equivalent.

Furthermore, you are/have:

  • Solid crew planning experience at management level preferably on a tanker vessel
  • Sound knowledge in maritime policies, rules and regulations both local and international level (e.g. ISM, MLC, CBA, STCW, DMW)
  • Knowledgeable in the Crew Personnel Systems
  • Excellent communication skills and proven record of management skills
  • Strong problem solving and customer service orientation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle pressure
  • Possess good leadership, strategic and analytical skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and excellent negotiations skills
