Senior Corrosion Specialist

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll take part in specifying corrosion protection systems, incl. the selection of most cost optimal coating systems. You’ll use your specialist knowledge on challenges that arise in both fabrication, installation, and operation in order to ensure proper design. Also, you’ll support the start-up of fabrication activities and follow it until handover to operations.

Welcome to Structural Engineering
You’ll be part of the Corrosion Protection & Measurement team where you, together with your colleagues, will play an important part in ensuring that our primary objectives are upheld, all the way from the initial concept design phases until a windfarm is decommissioned. We have ever-changing workdays in combination with short term travel activities to survey or supervise ongoing fabrication or operational projects. As a team, we collaborate to always ensure the best product and have an open mindset when sharing opinions to learn from each other

You’ll play an important role in:

  • executing offshore wind projects through inhouse consultancy assistance to our Fabrication team and onsite supervisors
  • providing periodic onsite technical support and supervision to fabricators across the globe
  • ensuring that our quality targets for the corrosion protection of offshore wind foundations are met
  • providing in-house consultancy services to our Operations team with corrosion and coating related support through the entire service life of the wind farm.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a degree in civil mechanical or chemical engineering, preferably combined with extensive industry experience with the execution of coating projects
  • have a deep technical insight towards coatings and corrosion protection and possess a flexible and practical approach to your work
  • thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders
  • have a willingness and ability to travel across Europe, UK and US
  • speak and write English fluently and have strong and clear communication skills
  • have experience with coating application, inspection of epoxy and polyester coatings.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
