Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics department in BESTSELLER, working out of either our office in Amsterdam (NL), Aarhus (DK) or Brande (DK). As a department, we are responsible for delivering quality data products and developing the corporate data strategy for BESTSELLER – and our field is at the top of our business agenda.

YOUR TEAM & ROLE
With a system landscape typical of a 50-year-old company, BESTSELLER is undergoing a transformation into a modern data mesh architecture. This shift will significantly enhance how our business trusts data and makes data-driven decisions.

As Data Engineer, you will be part of a team of six dedicated colleagues who share a passion for creating great products and improving existing ones. We develop tools that automate and enhance decision-making through data and insights, focusing on e-commerce, master data, product information management, and data products within a data mesh architecture. Furthermore, you will have a sister team of eight colleagues, who work with master data and governance, with whom you will work closely with, when it comes to helping other teams understand and get on board with the data mesh strategy.

More specifically, your tasks include:

• Data pipeline development
• Modelling and transformation of data
• Implementation of data products including data contracts
• Engagement of stakeholders to understand the tasks and business requirements

YOUR PROFILE
We expect that you are an outgoing and energetic team player who takes ownership and creates positive results. You have a structured and curious approach to your work. To succeed in the role, you can recognize and apply best practices, methodology, tools, and techniques. This is to meet our partners business requirements, timelines, and budgets.

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a proven track record in the following technologies:

• Apache Airflow
• Snowflake
• dbt / SQL
• Kafka
• Python
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Integration technologies including REST, S3 file storage, Azure Blobs, SFTP.
