LEGO Koncernen

Job Description
Design Internship Opportunity: Are You an Aspiring Toy/Product Designer?

Join LEGO® Creative Play Lab for a 5-month Internship
Do you have a genuine passion for play and the LEGO® Universe? Are you skilled at transforming creative ideas into products? LEGO® Creative Play Lab is recruiting talented students for an exciting 5-month internship opportunity.

About us:
Creative Play Lab (CPL) is at the heart of new product innovations at the LEGO Group. Sitting alongside the LEGO Design team, CPL is a department that explores the evolution of our bricks and redefines what it feels like to play with a LEGO set (e.g. LEGO Super Mario). We experiment with emerging technologies, tinker with new tools, band together with new brands and integrate new inventions into the LEGO system of play to create the toys of tomorrow’s world. As an intern in the Play Discovery team, you will learn to use our prototyping tools to get hands on discovering new play experiences from day one. You’ll get to work across our innovation missions to support the teams in ideating, prototyping, problem solving, iterating and testing the toys of the future!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative concepts and play experiences.
  • Create new play universes and characters through illustrations and storytelling.
  • Design physical prototypes, 3D models, 3D prints, and new LEGO elements.
  • Explore possibilities within physical and digital play, advancing gender-embracing design.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced designers, developers, engineers, and artists.

Perks:

  • Work with a passionate team of more than 250 designers in Billund.
  • Personal development and teamwork are core values.
  • Mentorship and support throughout your internship.
  • Opportunity to live and collaborate with fellow interns in Billund.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in industrial/product design, mechanical engineering, or related design education.
  • Proficiency in Rhino or similar 3D programs, Adobe Illustrator, and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (freehand sketching is a plus).
  • Generalist skills in 3D modeling, Siemens NX or Solid Works.
  • Enthusiasm for early-stage ideation and concept development using LEGO bricks.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Application Requirements:
To apply, submit the following documents:

  • A cover letter expressing your interest and qualifications.
  • A current CV detailing your education and relevant experiences.
  • A portfolio showcasing your work, including samples that reflect your passions and hobbies.

Note: This internship is a work placement opportunity and does not involve individual assignments or project writing.

Internship Period: February 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025

Location: Billund

Expected Work Hours: 37 hours per week
