The Role
The Finance team in Genmab is growing and now looking for an Accountant/Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Operations team in Copenhagen, with an initial end date 30 April 2025, but with possibility of extension.

This position within Accounting Operations Team is a great opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and ambitious accounting professional. You will be working in a highly motivated team of experienced finance professionals in an organization where we value innovation, determination, integrity, and teamwork.

We are looking for candidates who will be able to get a hands-on approach to the daily of VAT compliance operations.

This position reports to the VAT Manager with dotted line to Associate Director, Accounting Operations based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and you will be part of a large Global Finance team.

Responsibilities
We are looking for candidates who bring solid accounting experience from similar positions in international companies.

VAT compliance: Ensure compliance with VAT laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, in coordination with the VAT Manager and other team members. Monitoring changes in tax legislation and advising on VAT implications on business activities and implementing necessary changes.

VAT reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns, EU sales listings and Intrastat reporting in coordination with outsourced service provider, ensuring adherence to filing deadlines in all relevant jurisdictions under responsibility.

VAT Accounting: Ensure accruals and corrections are booked correctly on a monthly basis. Follow closing procedures and prepare high quality account reconciliations and analysis. Closely follow up on the open items and ensure to have clean reconciliations on continuous basis.

Internal Controls & record keeping: Support the creation/update of SOPs and SOX controls to ensure a compliant VAT environment. Maintain complete and organized records of VAT transactions, invoices, and receipts, ensuring they are readily accessible for audit purposes. Follow up on missing information and perform checks to ensure completeness of records.

Tax audits: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during VAT audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.

Cross functional collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including Finance, Legal, and CMC and Clinical Operations, to provide VAT guidance and support on business initiatives and transactions.

Qualifications
BA or BS mandatory, CPA (Certified public accountant), CA (Certified accountant) and/or MBA preferred.

5+ years of experience in public accounting and accounting in a multinational environment, with solid experience in VAT compliance and reporting.

Desire to learn and implement new accounting pronouncements and requirements and develop technical skillset.

Thrive in a cross-functional role and strong attention to detail.

Strong technical accounting skills and understanding disclosure requirements.

SAP knowledge is strongly desired, but not a must.

Excellent business acumen, with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Strong reporting and internal controlling skills are needed as well as the ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities.

Strong analytic skills with the ability to review financial analyses, account reconciliations and identify potential issues are needed.

Practical information

Start date: As soon as possible, but we are willing to wait for the right candidate.

Duration: Until April 30, 2025, with a good possibility for extension (candidates unable to commit for the full duration will not be considered for this position).

Working hours: 37 per week.

Location: Carl Jacobsens Vej 30, 2500 Copenhagen.

Salary: According to qualifications.
