Senior Business Controller

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll play an active role in optimising our cost performance by providing financial insight to our operations functions in offshore wind. The Offshore Operations Controlling team’s work is varied and includes both monthly reporting and annual forecasting as well as working closely with joint-venture partners and internal stakeholders.

Welcome to Finance
You’ll be part of the Offshore Operations Finance team where you, together with your colleagues, will be part of a global team working with Ørsted’s Operations teams to drive down the operating costs and our Commercial teams to maximise the EBITDA of our portfolio. We offer a unique and varied role where you’ll work across the offshore portfolio and have every opportunity to develop your knowledge, competences, and skillset. You’ll be an integral part of a team with competent and committed colleagues who’ll support you along the way.

As a team, we collaborate closely with our colleagues in Operations and Asset Management, share knowledge and learnings and support each other to succeed together.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • being responsible for the monthly reporting and controlling for your own portfolio of offshore wind farms towards our internal stakeholders as well as external partners
  • creating the annual budget and providing input for reforecasting processes during the year for our internal stakeholders as well as external partners
  • partnering directly with the stakeholders in Operations and Asset Management to understand the performance drivers and prepare commentary regarding monthly variances
  • assisting in the production and continuous improvement of monthly management information and working with stakeholders to maximise their insight.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a master’s degree in accounting, controlling, or similar (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified) as well as relevant experience dealing with controlling, budgeting, or forecasting, financial reporting, and other financial matters
  • are proactive and self-driven, challenging the status quo and continuously applying your can-do attitude to improve our business processes and deliverables
  • possess strong SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with an interest in IT systems to help develop new reports that provide more dynamic analyses. Knowledge of SAP BPC and PowerBI is highly beneficial.
  • speak and write English fluently and possess the ability to translate complex financial matters and developments into insights for our senior leadership team
  • thrive on cooperating closely with colleagues across a large and multicultural organisation and enjoy working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and international organisation.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
