“As our new Design Lead in Sport Performance, you will become part of a team consisting of 9 dedicated team players. The team consists of product developers, technicians, designers, buyers, and the product line manager. It is a small, laid-back team where everyone has a hands-on approach, helps wherever needed and works towards a common goal” says Martin Ahn, Head of Lifestyle and Performance.

Roles and responsibilities
As the design lead for Performance Apparel, you will be at the forefront of our creative journey, leading the design and development of seasonal collections that resonate with our brand’s vision and the needs of the market. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Creative Leadership: Drive the creative direction of our performance apparel line, ensuring that each collection reflects cutting-edge trends, innovative design concepts, and the hummel brand identity.
• Strategic Design: Develop and execute design strategies that align with market trends, consumer insights, and our brand ethos, ensuring a cohesive and forward-thinking approach across all product segments.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with product developers, technicians, designers, buyers to bring your designs to life, ensuring a seamless and collaborative process from concept to final product.
• Presentation and Communication: Lead the presentation of collections during line reviews and sales conferences, effectively communicating the vision and details of each design to internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Team Management: Inspire and mentor a team of designers, fostering a creative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

Our new Teamplayer
We’re searching for a talented and driven individual who can seamlessly blend creativity with technical expertise. Our ideal candidate is not just a designer but a visionary leader who can inspire a team and push the boundaries of what’s possible in performance apparel. To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in apparel design, with a strong focus on performance or sportswear categories.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and a deep understanding of garment construction and textiles.
• Creativity: A strong creative vision with a passion for innovation in performance apparel.
• Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, inspire, and lead a design team.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively across departments.
