Core Responsibilities

  • Drive Digital Product Operating Model and Capability: Defines and governs the operating model for Digital Products at the LEGO Group. Responsible for continuously evolving ways of working, building digital product capabilities, evolving our career framework for Product Managers and the organisational set-up. Reporting to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer (CDTO) and working closely with the Chief People Officer (CPO), the role drives the operating model by documenting, articulating, evangelising and continuously refining it.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: Create, build and lead the community of Heads of Products (without direct/ formal line leadership authority or responsibility) through mentoring, sponsorship. Steer and make key decisions on the operating model, ensuring consistent processes, execution and efficiency, across all areas/ products whilst acknowledging nuances where needed and helping to remove any roadblocks. Bring the digital product voice of the organisation into Digital Technology leadership team and be a visible evangelist for Digital Product Ways of Working at the LEGO Group.
  • Organisational Initiatives: Establish and lead cross organisational working group to drive initiatives aimed at improving our shared operating model and capabilities. This includes fostering collaboration and communication across departments to drive well-rounded improvements and align efforts towards common goals.
  • Capability Building & Development: Continuously build and strengthen capabilities for Digital Product Management across Heads of Products’ organisations, Product Teams and the business, with a focus on innovation, i.e., experimentation, ideation techniques, opportunity validation, working with objectives and key results, and developing product strategies.
  • Consulting & Advisory: Provide team and leadership advisory on standard methodologies in cross-functional product development, such as guiding team topologies, setting team scope and ambitions through objectives and key results, dual-track agile development, ideation and validation techniques, partner alignment, and fostering a flexible workforce and culture.

The LEGO Group is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Digital Product Operations, reporting to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer (CDTO), to lead and evangelise our Digital Product Ways of Working and Capability across the business to enable succeeding in achieving our strategic priorities.

The role is pivotal in driving a product-centric approach and efforts to streamline tools and processes, improving data-driven decision making, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, continuously building capabilities within teams and across the business. Ultimately, this should allow our Product Managers to focus on what they do best: understanding customer needs, defining product vision, fostering innovation, driving product strategy and delivering exceptional digital products.

This role/ colleague could potentially move into a Head of Product or a similar business leadership role when we have reached well established, mature level of self-sustaining capabilities and practices.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven experience in digital product management, with a strong understanding of product development processes, operating models, and methodologies.
  • Excellent partner management, communications and presentation skills, with strong ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams and create followership and communities.
  • Proven success in leading organisational change and development, ideally with focus on digital transformation and/or digital product ways of working.
  • Strong knowledge of agile development practices and cross-functional team dynamics.
  • A passion for fostering innovation and a deep commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
