Concept Developer – FOSS Analytical
FOSS solutions are used by thousands of food industry customers around the world to drive their decisions on food quality, safety and sustainability. FOSS constantly seeks to develop innovative solutions to provide insight and transparency throughout the global food and agricultural supply chain – in fact we commit over 10% of our revenue each year to funding our innovation activities.

So, as a Concept Developer at FOSS, you will have a unique opportunity to use your creativity, experience and collaboration skills across the food and agriculture industry.

Customer Value as driver - from business opportunity to tangible solution concept -
We are looking for a new Concept Developer to join our existing team of four. Our Concept Developers work closely with our Business Developers to lead the process of transforming business opportunities into tangible and executable solutions concepts.

Working with both customers and 14 departments across FOSS, the Concept Developer defines and matures the solution idea and validates the specifications. The Concept Developer acts as glue between all functions in the organization and makes sure we keep a constant focus on what creates value for the customer.

Make your mark on the industry!
You will have a big influence in defining your own working approach on each innovation project. You will always need to think one step ahead of the team to drive the maturation and decision-making during conceptualization. Therefore, most daily tasks will be centered around understanding the customers, clarifying solution design and de-risking the project:

• Explore and understand customers’ processes
• Facilitate cross functional ideation/conceptualisation workshops
• Coordinate and facilitate technical proof of principle studies to justify new solutions
• Building of early stage mock-ups and prototypes
• Product/UX design – workflows, wireframes, sketching, etc.
• Define system requirements and document their business impact for later development

The job will require around 20 days of travel a year to visit our subsidiaries and customers.

You are curious and willing to dig deeply into our customers businesses to find new ways to improve their operations. You identify problem and optimisation areas and create holistic solutions with clear business impact.

We expect you to be self-driven and a structured team player, with a get the job done attitude. You are confident communicator and talented at building strong relationships, as you will be working across all levels of FOSS.

Our ideal candidate holds a relevant Master’s degree in engineering or science and has:

• Good technical understanding
• Solid collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills
• Solid product development & conceptualization toolbox (e.g. illustrator, Figma, others)
• Willingness to learn and excel in all aspects of concept and product development

Relevant work experience and/or experience within the food and agricultural industries will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
