EVENT PLANNER (CONSULTANCY 5-6 MONTHS)

Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke

We are looking for a skilled event and conference planner and organizer with a passion for people power. Do you want to be part of successfully implementing the second Copenhagen People Power Conference in March 2025 (3-7th of March) and hereby supporting social movements in peacebuilding. Your role will be to be responsible for the logistical planning and implementation of the conference in collaboration with the Project Manager and Program Team.

In the past decade, the world has witnessed an escalation in war and conflict with devastating humanitarian and political consequences. Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, Haiti, Myanmar, Armenia, Ethiopia, the region of Sahel and DRC are just a few of the places that face war and conflicts in 2024. Leaders across the world are returning to raw, military power to achieve their aims and the existing system for diplomacy and international peacemaking is in crisis. At the same time, millions of ordinary people are mobilizing for peace and justice. And their movements are crucial to achieving a ‘positive peace’ that ends both violence and the underlying inequalities that drive it.

The Copenhagen People Power Conference will bring together international decision makers, parliamentarians, multilateral institutions, donors, researchers, media and movement leaders with the aim to directly improve the prevention, mitigation, and resolution of violent conflict around the world by increasing the support from key external stakeholders to movements working for positive peace. See here more about what came out of the last conference. See a report from the conference from 2023 here
