Are you driven by a passion for category management and the skill to turn strategic visions into impactful sourcing decisions? Do you aspire to negotiate high-value contracts while building meaningful relationships with stakeholders?

If you thrive on collaboration, sharing knowledge, and mentoring others, we look forward to welcoming you in our dynamic international Drug Product outsourcing team. Apply today – we’re excited to meet you!

The position
The demand for global Drug Product outsourcing initiatives to support our capacity ambitions is increasing and we need you on our journey. As Category Lead, you will be working closely with more junior category managers and be responsible for identifying solutions via category strategies and executing these by contracting with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).

Collaboration across the landscape of external partners and the Corporate Novo Nordisk teams is of paramount importance to ensure that we deliver on our supply chain ambitions, at a competitive price for our patients.

Your main activities entail:

  • Interacting actively with key stakeholders to understand the Novo Nordisk business needs and based on this,
  • Aligning on a strategic level with our overall Supply Chain Strategy and specific Category Strategy to identify new suppliers capable of supporting us
  • Assisting the Legal organization in drafting sourcing contracts, leading on the negotiation of contracts with identified CMOs, as well as
  • Managing effectively ongoing CMO relationships and updating contracts as necessary
  • Ensuring timely management of category fundamentals, such as contracting, negotiations, supplier collaboration structures, and risk assessments
  • Thriving in stakeholder management, with direct exposure to Novo Nordisk’s leadership and external partners

Your role also includes conducting sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ) while taking, in collaboration with your stakeholders, various sourcing criteria into account (e.g. timelines, costs, technology, robustness, biodiversity, responsible sourcing, etc.) - which at times might be complex to retrieve or define.

You will be working with global CMOs; hence you should expect up to 15 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area, giving you exposure to management.

The position is based in Høje-Taastrup, and requires presence in Denmark. We are excited to welcome you and would encourage you to be prepared to relocate for this opportunity.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you:

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field
  • Bring prior experience in category management, procurement, or business development from an international organization or start-up within pharmaceuticals
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing suppliers
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills, along with solid stakeholder management and networking skills
  • Showcase fluency in both verbal and written English

It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience working with CMOs or possess knowledge of aseptic production.

On a personal level, you have a commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to quickly understand complex business models and industry dynamics. You maintain a holistic view on the entire Category alongside your team members, while understanding its broader impact on the supply chain, all while staying engaged with the specifics of your projects. You proactively cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Lastly, you thrive working on your own while also actively sharing your expertise with the team and mentoring colleagues to help them succeed in their roles.
