Niels Brock

Niels Brock International (NBI) is recruiting full-time faculty members to teach Strategy, Management and Business Research modules in our De Montfort University bachelor programmes.

The Job
We are recruiting teachers for 15 January 2025, to teach undergraduate Strategy, Management and Business Research Methods modules on the DMU Programmes.

Job Profile
The job may cover a variety of modules within Strategy, Management and Business Research.

We envision the successful candidate to have a good understanding of a wide range of theoretical perspectives within the listed subject area(s) and an insight into empirically supported “real world” models. For business research modules, candidates with strong quantitative methods skills are preferred. NBI is committed to a pluralistic approach to teaching and has a strong cross-subject focus on sustainability. Understanding of cross-cultural pedagogy is also considered a plus.

Modules and functions
Modules are taught according to a fixed schedule and will generally be placed in the timespan Monday-Friday 8:00-17:00.

In addition to teaching, general job functions also include marking, tutorial sessions, participation in relevant meetings as well as general communication with NBI/De Montfort University students, colleagues, and management. Strong communications skills are imperative.

Employment
Employment will be secured as per collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC trade union.

At Niels Brock, we want to ensure working conditions that provide a good balance between work life and family life. Employees at Niels Brock with children under the age of 3 have the opportunity to apply for reduced time of 10% without salary reduction.

About us
For more than 20 years, Niels Brock has offered a range of British university degrees in cooperation with De Montfort University, Leicester. Our students are international and primarily from South Asia. They come to us with a diversity of educational, ethnic, and religious backgrounds as well as having English as their second language. We are dedicated to delivering world class education through inclusive and cross-cultural instruction methods that require pedagogical as well as didactic flexibility. The Faculty of Higher Education has more than 2,800 international students.

The requirements for the position
The requirements for this position are that you possess:

A relevant master's degree, at a minimum, though a Ph.D. is preferred.

The ability to speak and write English fluently (Danish is not a requirement.) Note that conversational English capability differs from mastery of the language at a sufficiently high level to teach in an academic setting. This position demands exceptionally strong English language speaking and writing skills.

Relevant college-level teaching experience; research experience is a plus.

Administering courses in a hybrid online/onsite format.

The desire to develop and test online course materials.

Danish work and residence permit.

A talent for cultural understanding and working cooperatively with a diverse group of colleagues and students from not only Europe and Asia but from all over the world.

About you
You are an aspiring or experienced teacher who genuinely enjoys interacting with adult international students. In addition to excellent communicative skills, you have a keen eye for details and deadlines as well as a natural focus on continuous improvement. As a colleague you are team-oriented and helpful with a keen interest in knowledge-sharing.

You are advised to submit your documents (explained below) as soon as possible.

Please submit a CV and cover letter. In addition, please attach a copy of your graduate transcript(s). Note, however, that applications without copies of transcripts or a list of your graduate level courses and grades will not be considered.
