Why this role is important to us
As a Software Engineer, you will become part of the Valuation & Market Data product area within SimCorp's Product Division, responsible for delivering functionality that enables clients to make investment decisions with our back-office applications.

The Valuation & Market Data product area consists of four teams spread across several geographical locations.

You will apply your experience to all development lifecycle stages, including creating and reviewing user stories, development, design, testing, coding, code reviews, writing automated tests, and support. The ideal candidate should have APL (A Programming Language) and C# expertise and be enthusiastic about delivering high-quality, scalable software.

You will join a team where most development is done using APL, with occasional C# tasks.

What you will be responsible for:
You will be using multiple technologies, and your responsibilities will also include:

  • Working with a team of software engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications
  • Working with product management to refine new features
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define software requirements
  • Design, and implement robust and efficient APL and C# code
  • Developing core functionality to support the business modules
  • Maintaining the existing code base
  • Constantly learning and developing yourself and our product
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • A high sense of quality, ability to work to deadlines, attention to detail and taking ownership of delivering a sound solution
  • Genuine willingness to learn and to dig into unknown areas
  • A desire to constantly deliver value to the clients, to improve yourself and the team
  • You are interested and able to work with complex architecture
  • Understanding the Lean Agile practices, values and principles allow you to better understand how we work

Furthermore, we value that you:

  • Have motivation to work within the financial domain
  • Have high collaboration and communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Are willing to acquire other technical and programming skills
  • Have the desire to develop and maintain automated tests, underlying frameworks, and their integration into CI/CD pipelines
  • Actively learn through experimentation when solving the latest problems, using experiences from both successes and failures
  • Can introduce new ways of looking at problems and that you can take creative ideas and put them into practice
  • Able to work in a hybrid setup (virtual and physical work environments)
