The Digital Engineering arm of Project Delivery & Engineering stands at the forefront of working towards a fossil-free future. We are dedicated to executing major global infrastructure projects, navigating a dynamic and challenging environment to ensure safety, timeliness, quality, and budget compliance.

Within our Digital Engineering division, we specialize in delivering and integrating digital solutions aimed at facilitating renewable energy production and ensuring dependable operations. As the primary provider of digital solutions within the Business Unit (BU) Offshore Wind, part of Business Area (BA) Wind, we oversee the entire value chain, from bid acquisition to asset construction and operation. Our focus lies on Operational Technology (OT) and IT, harnessing control and analytic modelling synergies to optimize engineering design through comprehensive data integration.

Cybersecurity remains paramount across our portfolio within Offshore Wind and other Wind units, as we uphold the highest standards in this regard.

Presently, we are looking for a collaborative leader for our Digital Technology Engineering department to empower teams through digital innovation of our infrastructure and optimize the digital customer experience by ensuring the efficient and seamless operation of technology platforms.

Your profile
Your role / what will you do?
The Head of Platform Technology is responsible for leading the development, tools, processes, and automation of the digital technology platform to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency. This role requires an understanding of platform technologies, toolsets, and process automation within critical infrastructure. You will lead a highly skilled team towards automation of infrastructure and processes to support continuous delivery and integration while ensuring the platform meets the business’s present and future needs.

Furthermore, leveraging your extensive experience in digital product development and sustainable value creation, you'll spearhead initiatives that propel our organization forward. Your strategic acumen and ability to navigate complex landscapes are crucial in guiding our digital journey to success. Your initial focus will be on cultivating robust internal collaboration and championing cross-functional teams for a cohesive approach. Utilizing your leadership competencies, you'll align leaders and individual team members to foster a shared vision and a collaborative culture.

Additionally, you'll strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders within the Vattenfall IT department and our Business Area (BA) Wind, enhancing operational efficiency and product delivery through agile methodologies. As a strategic and people-oriented leader, your expertise in digital product development and sustainable value creation will drive your commitment to digital transformation.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a current team of 3 functional leads and 20 employees.
  • Ensure sound collaboration with Vattenfall IT and our Digitalization Team.
  • Maintain a product-focused mindset in the organization and support teams in agile ways of working.
  • Manage and develop capabilities to stay competitive, relevant, and efficient.
  • Actively promote technical authority to provide a value-driven business focus.
  • Apply a feasible and innovative disruptive arena, balancing risk and opportunities to enable business strategy.
  • Manage budgets and costs within the area.
  • Travel is expected, as the team is geographically spread across 5 locations in Northern Europe.

Your profile / who are you?

As our Head of Digital Technology, you will bring:

  • An engineering university degree (M.Sc. or PhD) with relevant work experience, including leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • A positive mindset, with a “glass half full” approach to your work.
  • High motivation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to serve as a role model for our technical specialists.
  • The ability to lead in turbulent times.
