Experienced Software Engineer to Quantum Foundry

Description
Do you want to be a part of a pioneering company in the world-class quantum ecosystem at the heart of Copenhagen? We now have a unique opportunity to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to significantly impact our processes, by creating software solutions tailored to our complex laboratory control challenges and data pipeline requirements.

Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is a newly founded company, owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), aimed at developing next generation Quantum Computing Processor technologies.

About us
Our company is part of a vibrant and growing Danish quantum ecosystem, and we collaborate closely with world-leading researchers in the Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP www.nqcp.ku.dk) based at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen. The NQCP programme is designed to facilitate and drive research and innovations at multiple levels – from developing quantum processor technologies to solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface, and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications.

Join our team
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about enabling software infrastructure for hardware innovations. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to significantly impact our processes, by creating software control solutions tailored to our complex hardware challenges and data pipeline requirements.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software infrastructure and solutions to facilitate hardware control integrations, validation, and automation processes.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to guarantee the functionality, performance, and reliability of software solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and implement new software features that align with requirements.
  • Write clear, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.

We imagine that you have:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with software focus) or Experimental physics (with software focus), or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Git, Bash, and SQL, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality code.
  • Experience in laboratory control systems development coupled with a solid understanding of data structures and software design principles.
  • Experience with PLC (programmable logic control) is a significant plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and cloud computing services, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing scalable solutions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with control systems of scientific instrumentation is a plus.

If you are passionate about building robust software solutions that harness the power of data, and you thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you!

We offer
We strive to be a world-leading foundry and offer competitive salaries along with the many benefits of living in Copenhagen – one of the most livable cities in the world. Benefits also include generous vacation time, health insurance, a pension scheme and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.

We work closely with researchers and scientists to develop new technology, but as a company we do not publish research. The level of the position and the scope of responsibilities will be based on experience and background.

Employment is contingent upon a clean background check and security clearance.
