We are looking for an experienced Technical manager to engage our engineering team. You will have a valuable role in driving our large-scale portfolio of Wind and Solar projects worldwide.

About the role
As a Technical manager for wind and solar projects, your responsibilities will be dynamic, but key tasks are expected to include:
- Technical Management: Lead and oversee the full design process from conceptual design to detailed engineering. This includes defining the conceptual design, preparing RFPs (Request for Proposals) for engineering contractors, and coordinating subcontractors to define the project’s design basis.
- Project Oversight: Provide technical project management for wind and solar projects, ensuring they progress smoothly from early development through to successful completion, while meeting stakeholder expectations and securing high-quality deliverables.
- Engineering Reviews: Conduct and manage design reviews during each phase of the project to ensure that engineering work aligns with technical requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Technical Procurement Support: Provide technical support during the procurement of key project components such as wind turbines, transformers, and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems. Assist with environmental permitting, land agreements, and other project processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration between all teams and departments involved in the project.
- Decision-Making Support: Prepare and present material to support decision-making processes for the Project Manager and Project Director, ensuring informed choices are made to move the project forward.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review, optimize, and enhance project management processes to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
- Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Oversight: Develop and enforce quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures throughout the engineering and construction phases. Ensure that all technical designs, materials, and project activities adhere to industry standards and regulations.
Your daily work will be from our headquarters in Aalborg, or our office in Copenhagen. However, we understand the demands of commuting and offer a flexible work environment, allowing you to work from home frequently.
About you
You bring strong business acumen and a passion for driving project development, backed by a proven track record of successfully leading initiatives in dynamic and diverse organizations. You are a proactive problem-solver, comfortable navigating complex cases, and simply a standout colleague who loves to contribute to the positive energy in your working relationships.
Ideally, you will bring the following experience and qualities to our business:
- Master’s degree in engineering or equal.
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience in BOP or EPC engineering development within the renewable energy industry, with a preference for international project experience.
- Strong technical management skills, particularly in wind (preferred) and solar project scopes.
- Structured approach to task management, delegation, and follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of requirements and interface management through different project phases.
- Ability to create an overview of a complex technical landscape and build a bridge between engineering and project management.
- Outstanding people and communication skills; fluency in English, with proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese being advantageous.
- Interest in advancing a career path focused on development, with the goal of transitioning into a Project Manager role.
- This position requires a strong leader capable of managing complex design and engineering interfaces while delivering high-quality results within the specified budget and schedule.
