The research and development effort includes a diverse staff of theoretical and experimental physicists, hardware designers and software engineers around the world. Our laboratory in Denmark is looking for an experienced Nanofabrication Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities
In this role you will drive the development of processes and technologies for the manufacturing of nanoscale components for the Microsoft Quantum program. Your background and experience in fundamentals of clean-room processing technologies combined with hands-on micro- and nanofabrication skills will enable you to quickly engage in your new role. With your open and determined attitude you will collaborate closely and efficiently with other experts within Microsoft and its supplier network. An innovative and pragmatic approach coupled with strong time and resource management skills will enable you to succeed in this cutting-edge technology environment.

  • Development and maintenance of nano fabrication process blocks
  • Drive the manufacturing and delivery of standardized and exploratory nanoscale components
  • Technical guidance of equipment engineers and process technicians
  • Data analysis, interpretation of process and testing data to drive for continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with other process, measurement, design teams to drive progress.
  • Process and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Documentation (project reports, standard operating procedures [SOPs])
  • Model safety standards and practices including compliance with policies, adherence to safety in a variety of work environments, and escalating issues with appropriate urgency.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.
  • Significant work experience in a clean room
  • Excellent fundamental understanding of semiconductor micro- and nanofabrication technologies
  • Practical experience of typical nano fabrication processes: UV and EBL lithography, thin film deposition and wet and dry etching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In depth experience in wet and dry etching preferred.
  • Practical experience with characterization tools: SEM (EDX), AFM
  • Experience with CAD tools and processes.
  • Hands-on attitude with the ability to use structured problem-solving techniques to drive rapid issue closure.
  • Self-motivated to take personal ownership and deliver results while working in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Capability to create knowledge from data and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Capability to systematically solve problems
  • Excellent oral & written communication & teamwork skills in English.
  • Excellent collaboration skills
