Key Responsibilities:

As a member of our Global & Regulatory Affairs team, you will be at the forefront of global discussions, addressing some of the planet’s most pressing challenges. Our team supports the entire business on political, regulatory, and strategic issues with a global scope. In this role, you’ll develop a nuanced understanding of how political, economic, and social shifts shape the future of international trade, infrastructure development, and concession negotiations, particularly within our terminals. You will handle a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in the development of engagement strategies for external stakeholders, including governments, local communities, and industry partners, ensuring alignment with Maersk’s global objectives.
  • Political and Economic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of geopolitical trends, legislative changes, and economic developments that influence our global operations, with a focus on terminal concessions and infrastructure projects.
  • Value Proposition Development: Work with regional and local teams to develop and customize compelling value propositions that reflect both global objectives and local needs, helping Maersk build strong partnerships with governments and communities.
  • Concession Excellence: Collaborate with the Concession Excellence team in our Terminals business to build and deploy processes, tools, and intelligence frameworks that improve how we manage and support our terminal concessions worldwide.
  • Crisis and Contract Management: Support in managing political and regulatory crises, ensuring a proactive approach in contract negotiations and renewals by leveraging robust political and economic intelligence.
  • Special Projects: Take on special projects with autonomy, contributing to Maersk’s global strategy and its ambition to be the preferred partner for governments in delivering a connected, agile, and sustainable future for global logistics.

In this role, your main collaboration partners will be the Concession Excellence team, terminal managing directors, and the regional Public Affairs teams.

Who We’re Searching For:

  • Knowledge of and experience with critical infrastructure (Ports, Oil & Gas or Renewables), logistics/supply chain and/or transport is considered valuable
  • Degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Environmental Studies, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Politics, Advocacy, Event Planning, Trade, or related fields
  • Proactive and organized team member with a passion for business, politics, and sustainability
  • Ability to synthesize complex political and business concepts, translate the concepts into tangible implications and recommendations
  • Knowledge of and experience with planning global platform participation or advocacy events is beneficial
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and high-pace team, and in an evolving industry where adjusting strategies in response to changing regulations and political climates is commonplace
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • International perspective and Fluency in English
  • Permanently based in Copenhagen
