Is this you?

As a VP of Design & Research at Monta, you will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the design and research efforts across our complex product suite focusing both on B2B and B2C experiences. You will oversee a growing team, currently composed of 10 designers and researchers, set to expand to 15+ by 2025. Your role will involve leading both B2B and B2C teams, ensuring that our product design and research processes are aligned with the unique demands of the EV charging industry and our diverse customer base.

Monta’s powerful SaaS platform connects the dots in the entire EV charging ecosystem. As a B2B2C company with an engineering-driven culture, and engineers comprising one-third of our team, we offer comprehensive, tailored software solutions for drivers, businesses, and industry partners.

We aim to make EV charging simple, accessible, and reliable. Our software ensures a consistent experience across all charge point brands, empowering owners with a seamless solution

What else should you know?

We've just closed a massive 80M EUR Series B round, propelling us toward revolutionizing the EV charging experience.
Our growth is skyrocketing! Our platform currently powers more than 1.5 million charge sessions a month, welcomes ~1.500 new users per day and more than 10.000 new charge points are activated on our platform every month, primarily driven by our large enterprise solution providers utilising our platform.
We'll use this funding to enhance our software-only strategy, expand into new markets, and improve our product for an electrified future ⚡

Here are the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Serve as the strategic and visionary compass for our Design & Research team. Guide the team toward sustainable, long-term goals, providing oversight to ensure that design solutions are strategically aligned with Monta’s mission to revolutionize EV charging. You will be a trusted leader who can inspire, challenge, and provide a clear vision while remaining open to input from your team.
  • Team Management & Growth: Lead, mentor, and grow Monta's Design & Research team. With a focus on managing managers, you will coach and support the leads within the team, especially as many are new to their roles. Your leadership will be key in helping the team grow and succeed.
  • Process Improvement & Structure: Oversee and enhance the structure, alignment, and process maturity across the design and research teams and the development process. Your experience with complex product suites will be instrumental in improving current processes and introducing new, effective approaches, particularly in the fast evolving EV charging industry.
  • Advocacy & Strategic Influence: Act as a strong advocate for design and research at the executive level, securing a seat at the table for UX in early strategic decision-making processes. Champion the importance of design and research, driving UX strategy across Monta and ensuring that these functions are integrated into the company’s broader strategy.
  • Mentorship & Talent Development: Foster a strong feedback culture, providing constructive guidance that helps the team grow. You will identify and nurture talent within the team, promoting professional growth and establishing a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Research Leadership: It's not just about Design! Lead and manage the research team, ensuring that research is integrated into the design process and that the insights gained are actionable and impactful. Your existing experience in managing researchers will be crucial in elevating the role of research within Monta.

As a VP of Design & Research, you ought to have the following experience:

    • Experience Leading UX Teams: You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in product design and user research, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing design and research teams in a complex product environment focusing on both B2B and B2C. You have successfully led and grown UX teams across a complex product suite and are not a first-time leader.
    • Experience Managing Managers: Proven experience in managing managers, with the ability to coach and support team leads, particularly those who are new to their roles. You have hands-on experience and track record of developing design and research leadership talent within your teams.
    • Strategic UX Leadership: Demonstrated ability to create and execute UX strategies across an organization, with a focus on long-term, sustainable solutions that align with business goals and a deep understanding of how to integrate research into the design process and use insights to drive product strategy.
    • Executive Advocacy: Strong ability to advocate for design and research at the executive level, ensuring these functions are represented in strategic discussions and decision-making.
    • Process & Structure Improvement: A track record of enhancing existing processes and introducing new approaches that improve efficiency, alignment, and overall team performance.
    • Strong Feedback and mentorship culture: A leader who excels in giving and fostering constructive feedback, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Proven ability to identify, nurture, and develop talent within teams, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

    What’s the salary range for this role?
    The salary range for this role is 90-100.000 DKK/month (€12 - €13.400/month). Our offer will be based on the level of your experience.
