Senior Engineer Technical Safety – Offshore Wind

We are looking for a experienced technical safety engineer to strengthen our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with technical safety engineering for large-scale projects and serve as either discipline engineer or discipline lead for technical safety. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to studies, bids and both FEED and detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will be responsible for establishing technical safety strategies and philosophies. You will be responsible for design of safety barriers, for example firefighting systems, fire & gas detection, passive fire protection and SIL.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Coordinate and follow up of the technical safety design, ensuring alignment with the area requirements
- Preparation of technical safety documentation such as safety philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, safety layouts etc.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of the technical safety design across the project
- Technical requisitions and follow-up of procurement of safety equipment
- Interface and follow-up with project partners, subcontractors, vendors, certifying authorities and government bodies
- Coordinate and follow-up third party safety analysis
Qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of experience in technical safety engineering, preferably within Oil &Gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or the Offshore Wind sector
- Knowledge of DNV and international standards, as many of our projects are outside Norway. Familiarity with Norwegian technical standards is a plus
Personal qualities
- Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with ability to convey ideas clearly across teams
- Cooperative mindset, with positive attitude toward working in multicultural environment
- Ability of working independently with a detail-oriented approach, as well as effectively in a team
- Solid understanding of multidisciplinary project environments
- Committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
- Proactive, open to seeking advice, and eager to share knowledge and experience
