We are looking for a experienced telecom engineer to strengthen our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with telecom engineering for large-scale projects and serve as either discipline engineer or discipline lead for telecom. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to studies, bids and both FEED and detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will be responsible for developing the telecom strategy and design philosophy. You will guide the selection of telecom equipment based on their application, and you’ll develop innovative telecom philosophies and solutions to meet project requirements. You will be package responsible engineer (PRE) for telecom procurement packages, ensuring follow-up of supplier deliveries and participate in test activities SAT/FAT.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Follow up telecom packages as package responsible engineer (PRE), vendors and vendors technical documentation
- Interface with other disciplines, contractors and Clients
- Develop technical requisitions for procurement of telecom equipment
- Participate in multidiscipline design and review activities
- Participate and arrange meetings, workshops and reviews for instrumentation discipline as required
Qualifications
- Master’s degree, bachelor’s degree or technical college diploma
- At least 5 years of experience in telecom engineering, preferably within Oil &Gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or the Offshore Wind sector
- Knowledge of DNV and international standards, as many of our projects are outside Norway. Familiarity with Norwegian technical standards is a plus
Personal qualities
- Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
- Cooperative and positive attitude towards working in a multicultural environment
- Ability of working independently with a detail-oriented approach, as well as effectively in a team
- Solid understanding of multidisciplinary project environments
- Committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
- Proactive, open to seeking advice, and eager to share knowledge and experience
